DERBY COUNTY’S CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON SO FAR

So far 5 games in, Derby sit 8th in the table with 9 points. However, it started with a struggle.

Derby County are going into the first game after promotion from league one looking forward to the return to the championship but some people have already put Derby has favourites to go down. In the first game the rams see reality in what could be a tough season after a 4-2 defeat to Blackburn in which was simply not a good enough performance leading some fans already wanting Paul Warne Sacked.

Heading into the first league game at home the rams have to face tough opponent in Middlesbrough but have a bit of confidence after beating Chesterfield 2-1 in the cup during midweek. Everyone knows that this game will be be tough but actually we end up winning 1-0. Thanks to a Kayden Jackson goal. Many fans are happy with the result but not with the performance as Derby sat back for most the match

Making it worse, Derby then lose on the road to Watford in which was another bad performance game. But it will be hard for every team to do well away.

Even more people want Warne out now after losing to League 2 side Barrow in the cup. Another bad performance so Warne has to do something to change this.

And he does as we managed to comfortably beat Bristol City at home extending our home record and making it a fortress.

And most recently we win at home again, this time against Cardiff and now we sit 8th with same points as 6th.

Can Derby get top half this season?
Is play offs possible?

Let’s hope we can keep this up.

  1. Very well written article, will be interesting to see if they finish in the top half. Unfortunately, I don’t see it happening though.
