Tottenham U18’s, U21’s and Women’s Roundup

It was draws all round for all 3 Tottenham teams in action this weekend. Spurs U18 drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace on Saturday morning, however only levelling against 10 man Palace courtesy of an own goal from Palace midfielder Cormac Austin. Mikey Moore wasn’t involved for our U18’s as he has been training with the first team in the past week and has impressed Ange Postecoglou. With the versitile Mikey Moore being the shining light in the U18’s side, scoring goals and assisting for fun, this caused them to struggle on Saturday but they got a draw and sit 5th in their league. A mixed bag of results for them with 11 wins, 3 draws and 7 losses.

Our U21’s played Manchester United and drew 2-2. After having gone a goal ahead through the in-form Will Lankshear, United scored twice in relatively quick succession, their second looking offside but the assistant not giving the call in Tottenham’s favour on the day. Jamie Donley levelled 10 minutes later with a lovely lobbed finish after great build up between himself, Lankshear and Yago Santiago. The second half was a bit of a dull affair from a Tottenham perspective, aside from a late Jude Soonsup-Bell chance which could’ve nicked it. Our U21’s sit top of the league, ahead of second placed West Ham by one point, but also with Spurs having a game in hand as well. 13 wins, 4 draws and 1 loss in an impressive season for our U21’s

Spurs Women also played against Manchester United in what could be seen as a warm up for the FA Cup final. They drew 2-2. Manchester United opened the scoring on the 13th minute before Bethany England and Jessica Naz hit a quickfire double in the 29th and 31st minute respectively, but it wasn’t to be as Le Tissier scored in the 92nd minute to give the hosts a point, which was deserved based on the stats. Our women’s team sit 6th in the WSL having won 7, drawn 5 and lost 6. Another mixed bag of a season for them, however it’s a season that’ll go down in history due to their upcoming involvement in the FA Cup Final.

Up next for our U18’s is West Brom at home on Saturday at 12pm. Our U21’s are in action Friday night at 7pm away at Fulham, which could be another warm up game for a final, should Tottenham beat Nottingham Forest in the U21 PL Cup semi final. Fulham are already there after beating Chelsea 4-0. Spurs women play Brighton at home on Sunday at 2pm, the same time as the first team’s huge game against Arsenal in the North London Derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In other Tottenham news, Destiny Udogie has picked up an injury meaning he will be out for the remainder of the campaign, which is a big blow given our upcoming fixtures with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool coming up within the space of a week.
