Masses line the streets to see the champions

On Sunday as Stockports players and staff received a civic reception in the town hall, many fans and townsfolk lined the streets for one last chance to see the full squad from this season before the club inevitably loses a few members of this squad

Once the players and staff went through the main doors of the town hall towards their open top bus on which they rode to the ground. The dj started belting out songs which relate to the club in some form of way. E.g. Freed from desire as it is the base tune for Isaac “tanto” Olaofe’s chant

Then the players bus set off towards the ground which is when the players first began to see the majority of the crowd of which had lined the streets near the beginning of the parade had then proceded to follow the bus up Greek street where the party really started to begin with the players joining in with the many chants including the captains Paddy Madden’s chant.

Then as the bus and following parade headed down castle street and Mercian way the fans who were unable to get to the start of proceedings joined closer to the ground and followed the bus into the ground.

And the once the boys reached the club and left the open top bus one by one and headed into the dressing room for what will be some of the lads final time in there to get prepared for the trophy lift and the End of Season awards ceremony

This journey from Brackley town to possibly the likes of Peterborough hasn’t been without it’s heroes of which a few are listed below

Mark stott

Simon Wilson

Steve Bellis

Jim Gannon

Dave Challinor

Ben Hinchliffe

And many more I simply don’t have time to list them all

And as the fans on the terraces have been chanting

‘We’ve been to Leamington and Spennymoor Brackley Town away

Now we’re going Blackpool Blackpool Away’
