Busy Week At Pools As They Sign Two New Players

It was a busy week at Hartlepool United this week as we announced the signings of Jack Hunter and Luke Charman. In this article I will be detailing my thoughts on the signings and what I believe they can offer to the club.

Luke Charman

The first signing of the summer window and the first player we will be talking about today is Luke Charman. Charman, who is 26, recently departed AFC Fylde after scoring 3 goals in 27 appearances last season. Charman, who is a local player, has played for Newcastle, Darlington, and Rochdale before joining Fylde in August 2022. Charman is a very pacey and creative player who can play in each forward position. He likes to drop deep and drive at players and provide for his team mates. I think Charman will be a good backup striker and if he is able to boost his confidence then he’ll be a terrific player.

Jack Hunter

The second and final signing we will be talking about is former Halifax Town midfielder Jack Hunter. Hunter arrives after playing 44 times for The Shaymen last season is a defensive midfielder who has played for many clubs in the National League. Hunter has played for Newcastle, Blyth and Gateshead before moving to Halifax in 2022. Hunter is known for his strong defensive play and his passing ability. I think Hunter is a great signing and is someone who we have needed for a while. If we are able to keep him fit then he should do wonderful things for us.

My Thoughts

Overall I believe that Hunter and Charman are two fantastic signings. This is because they both have experience playing in this division and both fit the Darren Sarll playstyle. If we are able to recruit the same type of players then I’m sure next season we can be promoted.
