What more is there to say, 4 losses in 5 games for the Rapids down the homestretch of the year sees them fall from 3rd place all the way down to 7th in Western Conference.
This 4th straight defeat is really discouraging to see, especially since both goals conceded came in stoppage time. Instead of now getting to host a play-off game/series, the Rapids are tasked with the seemingly insurmountable challenge of winning at least one match on the road. The Rapids have not won a road game since the 31st of August against FC Dallas.
Over these 2 meetings against the Galaxy this year, the Rapids fell in both. Losing 3-2 in LA, and 3-1 at home. The Galaxy will also be fairly discouraged after utterly choking the 1st seed bid in the dying seconds to the Houston Dynamo.
Well there is very minimal optimism in the thin Colorado air this play off time, who knows what could happen. If we can prove the people wrong in Leagues Cup, who says we can’t do it in the MLS Cup play-offs.
